Tell it in Pictures

Your Image in a Dictionary

11-06-05

So much to say... why not tell it in pictures? A strange few months to say the least.

I can take it even further back than this...

The girl on the left I met at a party around LAST November. The only time I ever heard from her afterwards was a bizarre phone call at 8:30 one a.m. or another... Three hundred and sixty-two days later I get a text message out of the blue wishing me well.  We met up at the Fleche D'or (which I generally try to avoid for all my land and all my life. I actually forgot how interesting her friend was.  I hope they keep in touch.

Yeah I could go back a lot further than that last picture but, in a way that's sort of how it began. Now here's how it went:  The girl in the middle is from an island off the coast of Madagascar called "La Reunion."  I met her at the City Hall for the 11th District (Mairie de Dixieme Arrondissement).  I just walked up to her and told her I had been living in the area for two months now and was wondering how I'm supposed to meet people.  She said she had come for the same thing.

At first it was just her, me, a couple of guys, and the two girls on the left.  THEN my friend Ryan (on the right) shows up, and that's where life takes one of those interesting turns.  Two more girls showed up.  Then four more.  Then four more after that.  And we were all planning on going dancing at Barrio Latino... actually THEY were planning on going dancing at Barrio Latino.  Ryan and myself were concerned about the cost of the entrance and spending the entire night hanging out with a bunch of people we didn't really know who probably weren't going to pay any attention to us. (More so Ryan's concern than mine, I feel I should add. If it was just me I would have gone just to be polite. But hey...  Here in the parenthesis I feel I should also add that I developed a strange headache that would play a big factor in the rest of the weekend.)

We were dragging behind the crowd on the Rue de Lappe in the direction of Barrio Latino when all of a sudden my friend Alex pops out of thin air and kisses me on the cheek.  She says she's hanging out in the bar right in front of us and asks if we want to come join them. I started to tell her we were on our way to Barrio Latino with my friend Leslie and her friends, but one look at Alex...

...and I received an elbow to the waist signifying we'd be more than happy to join her and her party at the bar.

An interesting place in and of itself that I'm sure used to be a brothel.  As we all know there is no place cooler on earth than a place that used to be a brothel.  THIS set about a chain of events that including me being at a housewarming party for me DJ friend Rob with a fever of 104 degrees and climbing, spending Halloween in the hospital, and eventually starting a television show and learning to make Russian soup.

There's more to tell.  Hopefully I can get around to telling it later. Right now I have other parts of the site to update.
